WE DO NOT USE TITANIUM DIOXIDE IN OUR LIP BALMS. Titanium dioxide is a mineral powder used as a 'natural sunscreen' in many lip balms and makeups. A growing body of research points to titanium dioxide as a carcinogen, or cancer-causing agent.
When titanium dioxide is exposed to UV light, it actually produces the very free radicals that are known to cause cellular damage in the first place. So while it is supposed to give sunscreen protection, it may actually be damaging cells. Now, does that make any sense to you? Not to us, either.
